SonoBat software provides a comprehensive tool for analyzing and comparing high-resolution full-spectrum "sonograms" of bat echolocation calls recorded from full spectrum bat detectors. With its intuitive interface, SonoBat and SonoBatLIVE make it easy to record, process, display, and analyze calls with great sophistication.
SonoBat is fully compatible with any bat detector hardware producing full spectrum .wav files including those from Avisoft, Batbox, Binary Acoustic Technologies, Elekon, Peersonic, Pettersson, Titley (full spectrum models only), Wildlife Acoustics, and others.
True full-spectrum data extraction. With SonoBat, you are viewing your bat calls in three dimensions: time, frequency, and amplitude. SonoBat takes advantage of high resolution data extraction that considers up to 120 measurements per pulse to capture subtle call features, far exceeding any other commercial bat call analysis software available. A point of comparison, all other North American classifiers rely on ~12 main parameters of data deficient zero-crossing measurements for making species decisions; yes even those that open and manipulate full spectrum files. Does SonoBat work? See a few examples of real project results here in our Acoustic Monitoring Article . . .
Project Scale tools. SonoBat includes tools for project wide data management, such as tools for controlling, editing and creating metadata for large multi-season and multi-detector projects.
Future Proof Automatic Species ID. Current detector technology enables long-term, uninterrupted recording of full spectrum sound data to enable confident species classification. SonoBat brings automated processing of recorded files and automated species classification- indispensable tools for analyzing long-term and large-scale survey and monitoring projects. SonoBat has custom Automatic Species ID tools for separate regions across North America. Each of these classifiers is included in SonoBat. When updates to your region of interest are released, or new regions developed, any of your SonoBat 4 or SonoBatLIVE results will instantly be reflect the new updates.
Comparing calls is easy. SonoBat lets you append reference calls to a call sequence or an individual call and display them on the same sonogram at identical time and frequency scale to display nuances of call morphology, compare unknown calls to reference calls using the same time scale, and enable on-screen analysis of call data and harmonics. No opening and manipulating other call files in separate windows is required; SonoBat does that for you automatically with point and click simplicity.
Active monitoring with SonoBatLIVE comes included, allowing you to connect to a USB microphone and do active monitoring with your windows tablet or laptop.
The SonoBat Data Wizard is also included with purchase and combines the functions of the legacy D500x File Attributer, the Batch Attributer, Dated Batch Attributer, and Batch Scrubber all in one utility, but adds new features as requested by power users worldwide.
