Gallery: Electronic Monitoring Surveys

We find bats to be exceedingly difficult to study, and people have certainly been creative with inventing or adapting technologies in order to further their research. Bat Conservation and Management has been involved with some of the latest acoustic monitoring technology from Binary Acoustic Technology, Pettersson, SonoBat, Titley, and Wildlife Acoustics, with some colleagues and partners since the early 2000's.

Acoustic monitoring is just one way to deploy technology in the study of bats. We have also conducted surveys and experiments using night vision and thermal cameras, borescopes, beam break counters, acoustic deterrents, and motion tracking. We have conducted so much radio tracking, it's in another section.
