BCM's footprint for Indiana and Northern Long-eared bat presence or absence surveys spans nearly the entire range of either species. Each of our wildlife biologists holds range-wide USFWS federal permits enabling BCM to assist in any state. Below are some representative examples of past projects . . .

2012, Madison, Calhoun, Jersey, Pike Counties, IL. Summer inventory and monitoring mist netting surveys based on the Indiana bat protocol. Survey consisted of 14 sites. 280 captures of 9 species. Captured Eptesicus fuscus, Lasiurus borealis, Lasiurus cinereus, Myotis gricescens, Myotis lucifugus, Myotis septentrionalis, Myotis sodalis, Nycticeius humeralis, and Perimyotis subflavus.
 
2012, New Castle and Sussex Counties, DE. Summer inventory and monitoring mist netting surveys based on the Indiana bat protocol. Survey consisted of 13 sites. 351 captures of 6 species. Captured Eptesicus fuscus, Lasiurus borealis, Lasiurus cinereus, Lasiurus noctivagans, Myotis septentrionalis, andPerimyotis subflavus.

2010, Elk, Forest, McKean, and Warren Counties, PA. Summer Indiana bat mist netting effort consisting of 30 sites.  961 captures of 5 species.  Identified 23 Myotis lucifugus, 13 Myotis septentrionalis, 24 Eptesicus fuscus, and 7 Lasiurus borealis.
2010, Centre and Clinton Counties, PA.Summer Indiana bat mist netting effort consisting of 50 sites.  373 captures of 7 species, including the eastern small-footed myotis. Identified 14 Myotis lucifugus, 13 Myotis septentrionalis, 1 Myotis leibii, 17 Eptesicus fuscus, 6 Lasiurus borealis, and 2 Lasiurus cinereus. The Myotis leibiicapture was verified by a QIB.
