The Northeast Bat Working Group consists of volunteers from state spanning Virginia to Maine and beyond. Beginning in the late '90s with a handful of active biologists in a small agency conference room, it now has swelled to hundreds of members and meeting space demands a major conference venue. Bat conservation needs can rapidly change and organizers must strive to keep annual meetings fresh, relevant, and up-to-date with all the latest information.
