Our Team: Bryan Butler, Wildlife Biologist

Ever since joining BCM, Bryan has continued to find himself engaged in an constant mix of new and interesting projects. Whether it be out in the field conducting mist-netting and acoustic surveys, creating company adverts and newsletters, or providing technical support for the array of electronics that BCM carries, Bryan enjoys creative opportunities and the chance to be multi-disciplined through the many things he does at BCM. After getting his start in the molecular biology field, Bryan continued into wildlife biology, which has allowed him to continue to foster a lifelong love and appreciation for the outdoors. When not out in the field, Bryan can be observed around BCM’s Carlisle office doing things such as report-writing and permit coordination, client support and communication, analyzing bat calls, testing and working with acoustic equipment and software, providing troubleshooting and technical support, and website development. He has also become actively involved in assisting with bat survey workshops, which helps in supporting one of the things he enjoys most— building relationships and teaching. Bryan has both managed and participated in a number of wildlife surveys throughout the Eastern United States, is a Qualified Bat Surveyor (QBS) in Pennsylvania and a USFWS Certified Bat Biologist.
