These cameras have been tested by John Chenger of BCM and have shown to reliably trigger video clips when a bat flies in a reasonable field of view of the sensor. While video may not capture the first pass, subsequent passes are captured as the bat circles back. Suggested uses are for determining if bats are using a bat house or other roost, testing bat exclusions, and remote surveying potential roosts or hibernation spots. The video quality is excellent for this class of camera and you can easily tell the object is a bat vs. bird or other airborne critter.
