  • Is this compatible with all Android phones? I have an oppo find X2 pro and didn't want to buy to have to return later

As far as we are aware, it is compatible with Android phones with the proper connector and the app called Batrecorder. Thanks and have a great day!

  • Hi, Will this detector measure relative sound pressure/decibel level? Or is that stripped out in the conversion?

This is a function of the software; as a full spectrum microphone however, it does natively retain amplitude information. You would just need software or a smartphone app that displays the amplitude/dB level. The included Batsound Touch software does this, as well as many apps, even non-bat oriented apps that use the microphone.

  • When will the microphone may arrive to Florida? Can you send link for payment with credit card (mastercard)

When in stock, microphones ship within 2 business days and would arrive in FL about 2-3 days after shipping. You will be provided a link which you can track the shipment. If you'd like a payment link, send your complete shipping address along with the quantity of the product you'd like to order to sales@batmanagement.com However, you can simply order online to speed up the process. The u-series microphones may connect directly to a smartphone, but now may require an adapter. We recommend the M500-384 microphone as it connects to a wider range of equipment and comes with sophisticated PC recording/monitoring software.

  • It's my undersrtanding most Android/iOs devices are locked at 48k sample rates. Do these have D/A converters that somehow bypass that and bring in the higher sample rates to the apps that are being used? Thanks.

Android/iOS/tablets top out at 384 kHz sample rate with appropriate software. The best bat-specific smartphone app available we know of is batrecorder for Android. For the latest advice see the Facebook group "Bat Call Analysis Workshop" for advice on other possible apps. All smartphone recording apps from any manufacturer, are regarded as simple recorders with a simple visualization of the sonogram. For high-res and true species ID work, expect to bring the recordings into a full analysis application such as SonoBat. https://batmanagement.com/products/sonobat-4-north-america
