bat movie previewDurham, PA Bat Search
The great Durham bat search occupied most of April 2004. Seven female little brown bats were radio transmittered as they emerged from the mine. The goal was to follow one to its summer home in order to see how far and fow fast they might migrate. A fleet of up to 6 vehicles and 2 small airplanes were used to keep tabs on about half of the bats. Radio tracking by night and investigating day roosts by day, the survey crew was literally "working day and night".
