One Sodalis
from the
Hartman Mine

On the evening of April 12, 2003 a single female Indiana bat was captured emerging from it’s hibernation at an abandoned limestone mine in Canoe Creek State Park. After four nights of electronic tracking it took up residence in a snag nearly thirty seven miles due east of the hibernation site. No other migrating Indiana bat has ever been followed so closely for so long to what is probably a maternity roost area.

This is it’s migration story.
